Eugene “Gene” Hodge

Gene Hodge is a futurist, entrepreneur, author, radio talk show host, and owner/president of Hodgepodge Training Inc. (HTI) with over 20 years experience dedicated to providing quality training to make people and organizations more productive.

Gene has taught computer and job-seeking skills training to seniors, veterans, and unemployed individuals for St. Petersburg College, Pinellas Technical Education Centers (PTEC), Transitioning Professionals of Tampa Bay, and the Bay Pines Veterans Administration Hospital.

He has provided ‘Career Transition Workshops’ for out-placement for companies such as: Right Management Associates, Lee Hecht Harrison, and Drake Beam Morin at companies such as: General Electric, Unisys, Union Carbide, Frito Lay, Electric Boat, etc.

His primary passion is the ‘Ultimate Job Transition Training Program’, which he developed in 1988. It’s a job-training program that meets both individual and employer needs, and puts people to work.

Gene’s unique methodology focuses on integrating individuals skills, abilities, experience, interest, and passion combined; with computer technology that matches a happy, holistic worker, who enjoys their work, with compatible jobs, improving employer productivity

Mr. Hodge has managed and implemented this Job Training Program’ for agencies such as the: Connecticut Department of Labor, Welfare Department, and Regional Workforce Development Board enabling over 1500 individuals to gain enjoyable employment.

Mr. Hodge has implemented this program at the University of Hartford, University of New Haven, Quinnipiac University, Gateway Community-Technical College, and Housatonic Community-Technical College (all in Connecticut).

Gene earned his A.S. degree in Data Processing from Springfield Technical Institute, B.S. degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts, Masters in Education from Cambridge College, and teacher certificate from Westfield State College. He is also certified to teach computer related courses in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Florida. He is also the Florida Representative for IC&TA, Inc. (www.ictaweb.org)

For the past 2½ years, Gene host ‘The Employment Opportunity Hour’ and ‘The Entrepreneur Opportunity Hour’ radio shows every Thursday on the TanTalk Radio Network: (WTAN-AM 1340, WDCF-AM 1350, and WZHR-AM 1400). These stations reach more than 3-million people in the greater Tampa Bay area and over a million in the Little Rock, AK market. The show reaches even a larger audience thanks to their broadcast worldwide on the Internet. The ‘Employment Opportunity Hour’ helps job-seekers find enjoyable employment, instead of a ‘job’. The Entrepreneur Opportunity Hour’ promotes entrepreneurs (business owners, investors, authors, those starting a business, etc.). Listeners are encouraged to call the show to: share tips or ask questions. Guests are interviewed onsite or from remote locations; and offer tips to help listeners find enjoyable jobs or ways entrepreneurs can grow their businesses faster.

Note: Presently, this is the only talk show that represents all individuals who make-up our workforce and yet are not recognize by mainstream media. As examples, specific shows have focused on: entrepreneurs, professionals, teens, school dropouts, minorities, veterans, ex-offenders, seniors 55+, disabled/handicap, etc. Gene even presented a show in Spanish; and is scheduling a show for Southeast Asians (i.e. Vietnam, Laos, China, Cambodia, etc.), immigrants, and native-Americans.
